English: This figure depicts the tracks of representative radial null geodesics in the Born coordinate chart for Minkowski spacetime, in which the world lines (nongeodesic timelike curves) of Langevin observers appear as vertical lines.
Langevin observers rotate with angular velocity ω about the axis of symmetry r = 0. In an ordinary cylindrical chart, these appear as helices. The figures shows that, as depicted in the Born chart, Langevin observers see a central observer "displaced from his true position" because they must look ahead to compensate for their motion. |
